Robocalls

I receive so many of these calls that I have quite a collection of recordings.  This page will become a repository of some different types of calls, scams and technologies used to attempt to acquire your money and personal information.

Franchise Ownership

I get these along with spam e-mails that tell me I’m a great candidate for franchise ownership. They would like to give me more information on this wonderful opportunity yet don’t really give many details. Probably trying to harvest lead details or worse…

Health Enrollment Program

These come in frequently and seem to go to a possibly “legit” health enrollment business but their lead generation method is an illegal robo call.

Medical Support Braces

TAX SCAM

This is my FINAL WARNING! Even though I wasn’t able to grab this recording until their third attempt at calling me.  The call is from Dennis but is using a female TTS or text-to-speech voice. The phrasing is bad and doesn’t seem like a native English speaker wrote this script.

Another tax scam robo call example using TTS.

SEO SCAM

Received this call informing me that my business is eligible for front page placement on Google! How exciting!

GAS BILL SCAM

The phone does ring but never allows an answer and leaves a voice mail message instead. Probably a shady sales scam where they want to get personal information from your bill to use for credit or identity theft.  Your gas bill number should never be given out to anyone that calls you.

CARD MEMBER SERVICES

Card Services calling about my eligibility for lower interest rates!

Another card member services call.

AUTO WARRANTY

Auto warranty on my vehicle has expired.  This is a good example of a robocall with an automated interactive voice response system (IVR) that has called me frequently.  No matter what I say “Yes, No, Blah, Are you a robot?” the recording always replies “Fantastic”!
